How to adjust straps on Ickle Bubba car seats: Step by step
Step 1: Loosen the shoulder straps
Before you place your baby in the car seat, you will need to loosen the shoulder straps for easy access. To loosen the shoulder straps on Ickle Bubba car seats, you need to open the harness buckle by pressing the red release button.
Step 2: Place baby in the car seat
Next, carefully place your baby into their car seat and put the shoulder straps over their shoulders. It is important to make sure you don't interchange or twist the shoulder straps and that your baby is comfortable and supported.
Step 3: Fasten the harness
Fasten the harness by slotting the two plastic sections of the buckle connector together then into the hole in the top of the buckle. When the buckle is secured you will hear a click.
Step 4: Adjust the shoulder straps
Check the harness is secure by pulling above and below the buckle and then tighten the straps on the Ickle Bubba car seat. For maximum safety, tighten the shoulder straps as close to their body as possible but make sure your baby is still comfortable. To tighten the harness, you can pull down on the pull strap so that the harness lies flat and is in contact with your baby's body. Make sure the straps are straight and that there is no more than one finger's width between your baby's shoulders and the shoulder straps of the car seat. In order to loosen the harness on Ickle Bubba car seats, you will need to pull on both shoulder straps at the same time.
Adjusting shoulder height on an Ickle Bubba car seat
Some models of Ickle Bubba car seats like the Stomp have two positions for the harness on the back of the car seat. If you need to adjust the shoulder height of the straps you must do this before the car seat is installed into the car. The straps should be placed into the nearest slots which are just above the height of the baby's shoulders. If you need to adjust the harness to the next shoulder position you can remove each of the straps by passing them from the front to the back of the seat through the slots. Then pull the straps through the other set of slots to make sure the shoulder height is suitable. If the position means the shoulder straps are too loose or tight on the shoulders you can readjust those too.
